Our Environmental Health and Licensing team is a crucial component in delivering services that improve public health and safety for both residents and visitors. They work tirelessly to ensure that businesses and license holders operate safely and efficiently in compliance with relevant licensing regulations.

They are seeking a dynamic and positive Licensing Officer to join our team of passionate professionals who are dedicated to providing high-quality, customer-focused services. The ideal candidate will have experience working in partnership to resolve issues and a keen interest in delivering top-notch services.

As a Licensing Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of all licensing functions, ensuring compliance with national legislation, guidance and local policies. Your work will play a critical role in helping the council meet its statutory obligations by taking regulatory action when requirements are not met and providing advice and guidance where needed.

They are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with extensive regulatory experience in local authority licensing, including the Licensing Act 2003, the Taxi and Private Hire regime, Gambling Act 2005, and animal welfare. The ideal candidate will be able to manage a diverse and challenging workload, carry out compliance and enforcement activities, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent organizational and analytical skills, be a problem solver, and be able to adapt to competing priorities while remaining calm under pressure. A full current UK driving license and access to a vehicle insured for work purposes are essential for this position.
