This enables us to manage over 3500 lottery retailers, operate a complex network of 12,000 slot machines and electronic table games, and provide the backbone for BCLC’s eGaming platform, among other things.

We have offices in Kamloops and Vancouver, and we can also support 100% remote work within British Columbia for this position.

The Senior Analyst, Quality Assurance (QA) is responsible for creating, managing, and executing test plans, test cases, and other test artifacts to ensure that our products and services meet both organizational standards and end-user requirements. The role also identifies and capitalizes on automation opportunities to reduce manual functional testing and improve product quality. In addition, the Senior Analyst provides expertise, analysis, and advice to internal stakeholders within BCLC and coordinates the test activities and deliverables of external vendors.

Key responsibilities include developing test strategies and plans, coordinating internal and external testing resources, managing system and data setups throughout the test cycle, and providing QA status updates and project-end reports to project stakeholders and management. The role proactively seeks out issue resolution by consulting with developers, vendors, and project managers, and mentors and develops junior team members and contracted resources. The Senior Analyst is also responsible for the continuous improvement of shared QA processes and tool use and actively cooperates in cross-departmental workgroups. Finally, the role is responsible for audit and compliance, including rules and responsibilities, procedures, detailed change information, and documenting meaningful and understandable details about the system and/or applications.

The minimum required qualifications for this role include a university degree in a relevant discipline or a two-year college diploma supplemented by industry-recognized professional courses, ISTQB certification (an asset), 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in a quality assurance or software development environment, experience in information systems testing, vendor management, test management, defect tracking and test reporting tools, and experience with test automation (an asset). Technical requirements include demonstrated experience in business and process analysis and improvement, sound knowledge of the principles, concepts, practices, and techniques of the overall SDLC - specifically in the area of quality assurance, the sound experience of web application automation, a sound understanding of Selenium and SoapUI, experience with continuous integration testing and tools (an asset), and understanding of B.C. gaming industry (an asset). Finally, excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, problem-solving, analytical thinking/innovation, time management, and multi-tasking skills are also required.
