"Making the Gambling Industry Sustainable: A Preview of the Consumer Protection Zone at ICE Gaming 2023

As the world's leading gaming event, ICE Gaming London is at the forefront of innovation and progress in the gambling industry. In the lead-up to this year's event, we at SG:certified, organised a webinar to showcase 10 organisations that are making waves in the push for a more sustainable and responsible gambling industry.

The "Consumer Protection Zone Preview" brought together experts from across the industry to discuss the key issues and solutions to making the gambling industry more sustainable. From safer gambling practices to responsible gaming initiatives, each of the 10 organisations shared their work and insights in 5-minute presentations.

Ewa Bakun from Clarion, opened the webinar with a presentation of the Consumer Protection zone, its goals and the fundraising work being done to support great charities. 

Laura Faulkner from GamCare gave a powerful talk about the importance of safeguarding consumers and promoting responsible gambling practices. As a leading provider of support and advice for problem gamblers, GamCare is at the forefront of the fight against gambling harm.

Ian Shanahan from Ygam shared how the organisations works towards protecting the youth from gambling related harm.

Maris Catania from SG:certified discussed the importance of sustainability in the gambling industry. As the leading platform for sustainability certification in gambling, SG:certified helps companies to become more environmentally and socially responsible.

Laura Balla from the Gambling Commission highlighted the role of regulation in ensuring a sustainable and responsible gambling industry. The Gambling Commission works to ensure that consumers are protected and that the industry operates in a fair and open manner.

Jade Luchauer from IGT discussed their work in developing a sustainability strategy. 

Rasmus Kjaergaard from Mindway AI shared how AI and machine learning can be used to promote safer gambling. Mindway AI's innovative solutions are helping to prevent gambling harm by providing real-time insights into player behaviour.

Katie Reynolds-Jones from GAMSTOP shared how their platform is helping to tackle problem gambling. As the UK's national online self-exclusion scheme, GAMSTOP helps consumers to take control of their gambling by allowing them to self-exclude from all participating online gambling websites.

Keith Scott Whyte from the National Council on Problem Gambling showcased how the Council works to raise awareness about the dangers of gambling harm and to promote responsible gambling practices.

Finally, Robert Mabbett from Gordon Moody shared how their organisation is helping to support individuals with gambling problems. Gordon Moody provides specialist support and treatment to people who are struggling with gambling addiction.

Each presentation was insightful and thought-provoking, highlighting the importance of sustainability, responsible gaming, and safer gambling in the gambling industry. As we look ahead to ICE Gaming 2023, it's clear that there is much work to be done to ensure a more sustainable and responsible industry.
