Introduction:

GamCare is seeking a candidate for a 9-month fixed-term position to assist with the monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes for their safer gambling services. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders and conducting evaluations of the organization's good practice gambling industry codes project, ensuring key deliverables are achieved.

Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of the candidate include:

  • Leading the evaluation of GamCare's good practice gambling industry codes project, drafting final reports, and communicating results to stakeholders.
  • Managing the industry codes project, ensuring that key deliverables are met and making recommendations for closing or handing over the project.
  • Developing an updated version of GamCare's good practice codes for the gambling industry, collaborating with stakeholders to set a clear benchmark for the display of safer gambling information in gambling venues and online.
  • Working with other GamCare teams and external partners to develop a monitoring, evaluation, and learning framework for the organization.
  • Upskilling colleagues to ensure appropriate data is captured for projects, products, and services offered by the Safer Gambling Team.
  • Advising staff on how to embed monitoring, evaluation, and learning into individual projects and ensuring that tools and frameworks are used consistently.
  • Contributing monitoring, evaluation, and learning plans to proposals for new work, collaborating with staff and prospective clients to make sure plans are effective and capture the necessary data.

 

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in monitoring, evaluation, and learning and will be able to use this knowledge to upskill existing staff and establish more effective processes to demonstrate the impact of GamCare's work. The candidate should have strong communication, stakeholder, and project management skills to lead evaluations and work with internal and external stakeholders to gather and analyze data, interpret findings, and prepare evaluation reports.

Package Description:

The salary for the position is £40,301 (£43,734 with London weighting), and the candidate will work from home with occasional travel to the London office (approximately once a month). The company offers a generous pension scheme, discretionary company sick pay, and an employee assistance program, among other benefits. Basic annual leave entitlement is 33 days per annum, including bank holidays, which increases with service. Interviews for the position will take place online via video conference on 2 or 3 May 2023.
